UNAVAILABLE 🐈Name: Crystal (w) 🎂 Age: born approx. 01/24 📌Location: Cyprus, Monastery Colony 🏡husbandry: no unsupervised outdoor access, no single housing Hello, I'm Crystal! I'm a gentle soul who is still a bit unsettled. The many cats in the colony are sometimes too much for me, but I really like people. I love being petted and then show my soft purring. I dream of a home where I can relax and unfold my personality. If you bring patience and love, I will give you all my affection. I am ready to let you into my heart - are you ready too? Together we can start a wonderful friendship. Write to Heroes for Cyprus Cats right away, and I might move in with you soon! My journey to you will be microchipped, vaccinated, tested for FiV/FelV and with an EU pet passport. ------------------------------------------------------------ Who are the heroes behind Heroes for Cyprus Cats We at Heroes for Cyprus Cats are a committed team of animal lovers from Cyprus, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, who work for the well-being of the street cats on Cyprus. Our goal is to improve the lives of these cats in a sustainable way. Our local team in Cyprus feeds, spays/neuters and cares for sick or injured cats on the streets and in cat colonies. If necessary, we place them in foster families where they wait for their new family in a safe environment. In addition, we maintain a strong online presence, process adoption inquiries and provide assistance at the airport. Stray cats in Cyprus suffer a lot and are often victims of car accidents or cruel mistreatment. Many simply starve or die from diseases that are not treated. We save them from this sad fate and work tirelessly to find a loving, safe home for our rescued cats. We place great value on a collegial, transparent and respectful relationship within our team and towards potential adopters. For us, adopting a cat is only the beginning. We are committed to supporting our rescued cats and their new families for a lifetime. Together we make a difference, for each individual cat.

About Crystal

What life with Crystal looks like

Crystal is a large young adult cat waiting at Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen in Kirchheim bei München.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Crystal, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Crystal?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Crystal on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Crystal if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Crystal already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Crystal isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Heroes for Cyprus Cats / Zypernkatzen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Crystal and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
