Adopt Crystal

Bichon Frisé · Female · Young · 3 years

Crystal has come to us from a breeder and is now searching for the loving forever home she deserves. She is a sweet natured girl who can be a little reserved at first, but is making progress and coming further out of her shell each day. Crystal will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home where she can settle in at her own pace and would benefit from adopters familiar with ex-breeding dogs. She adores other dogs and really relies on them for comfort, so it's important she has at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing. She recently moved to a foster home, where she is getting to experience home life for the first time ever and has been settling in well and learning all about new sights and sounds as well as house training. Crystal has already been a little star in foster and her cheeky, inquisitive personality is starting to shine through. She loves playing with the other dogs, happily sleeps downstairs with her doggy friends all night and loves her food and treats. She isn't used to much handling just yet and can still be unsure about being picked up and may retreat at first, but once in your arms she settles nicely. Crystal doesn't walk on a lead and harness just yet, but she has recently visited a secure field for the first time and was incredibly brave. She was introduced to wearing a long line and was happily following her foster carer around and coming over for treats. With time, patience and love, we know Crystal will continue to grow in confidence and become a wonderful companion. Crystal has a travel document. This dog can be homed with a resident dog.

About Crystal

What life with Crystal looks like

Crystal is a young adult bichon frisé dog waiting at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Crystal, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Crystal?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Many Tears Animal Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Crystal on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Crystal if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Many Tears Animal Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Crystal already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Crystal isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Many Tears Animal Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Crystal and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
