Adopt Cynka

Mixed Breed · Unknown

Cynka is an energetic and active spaniel puppy, born in October 2023. She has been at the shelter since spring 2024. She loves play and interaction with people. She knows the command "sit" and walks nicely on a leash. She loves to sniff and track, and she is also interested in a ball, though rather modestly. She is an extremely intelligent dog, which means she is very demanding, and as with all hunting breed dogs, she has a great need for stimulation not only physical but also mental. Her dream would be to find a home where the inhabitants are active and Cynka could accompany them in their activities. Cynka had an unsuccessful adoption attempt and after about a week was returned to the shelter - left alone at home, she caused destruction. So she is again looking for her guardian, but it should be emphasized that, like with any dog joining a family, a properly conducted adaptation period is necessary as well as ensuring the puppy long walks and physical activity. Cynka can live in a house but when the residents are away, she should be properly secured in the house or in a sturdy crate (with a floor and roof - so she cannot escape). We definitely prefer a house with a garden for her - where she will not have to stay alone.

Cynka to energiczna i aktywna suczka w typie psa gończego myśliwskiego, urodzona w październiku 2023. W schronisku przebywa od wiosny 2024. Uwielbia zabawę i interakcję z człowiekiem.

About Cynka

What life with Cynka looks like

Cynka is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cynka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cynka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cynka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cynka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cynka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cynka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko dla Zwierząt w Słupsku early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cynka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
