Cynthia

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 15 months

💔 Cynthia – a request to grant her a dignified autumn of life. We’re looking for a hospice-style home for her 🐾 There are announcements you write with a lump in your throat—and this is one of them. Cynthia is about 15 years old. Her body is full of energy, and her health—let’s not sugarcoat it—is poor. The cat has feline leukemia (FeLV) and kidney failure. We don’t know how much time she has left. It could be weeks, months, or—with a huge stroke of luck, perhaps even years. We don’t know when her condition will deteriorate enough that we’ll have to make the hardest decision and help her peacefully pass on. But we do know one thing: she shouldn’t spend her final days in a shelter cage or a hospital kennel. Even though her body is failing her, her heart is still full of love for the world. Cynthia is an incredibly open and sociable cat. She loves humans with all her little being: • She cuddles up to people at every possible opportunity. • She wants to be close, feel the warmth of a human hand, and hear a calm, soothing voice. We’re looking for a safe haven—a temporary or permanent home with a hospice-like character—for her. A quiet, peaceful place where Cynthia can finally experience what a true, secure home feels like. Due to her leukemia (FeLV), Cynthia should either be an only cat or live with other cats who share the same condition (she poses no risk to dogs or humans). Giving her a home for these last moments is an act of the highest love. It’s a chance for her to go peacefully, loved, on her own pillow—not as an anonymous, nobody’s cat. Cynthia is microchipped. Because of her health condition, she hasn’t been vaccinated or spayed/neutered yet. We’re looking for homes for our feline residents that are strictly indoor-only. For adoption inquiries, please call 667 706 607 during the shelter’s business hours. A carrier is required for adopting a cat.

Cynthia to niezwykle otwarta i towarzyska kotka.

About Cynthia

What life with Cynthia looks like

Cynthia is a small puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Cynthia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Cynthia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Cynthia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Cynthia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Cynthia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Cynthia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Cynthia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
