Czesio

Mixed Breed · Male · Adult · 8 years

Czesio (reg. P-6584/25) is a dog born in January 2016. He arrived at the animal shelter in September 2025. Czesio is a beautifully matted, slightly fluffy, senior with a puppy-like soul. He is a medium-sized dog, about the size of a knee. Before being abandoned, Czesio undoubtedly must have been a family pet. At the beginning of his stay at the animal shelter, he couldn't manage his needs in the box, always waiting for a walk. Czesio has no trouble putting on a harness and walking nicely on a leash, but in moments of great excitement, he can pull quite hard. He loves walks, where his terrier-like soul comes alive. He focuses on exploring the terrain, not paying much attention to people. However, in the shelter kennel run, he shows that he can also be a cuddly dog and likes to snuggle with his volunteer. Walks are very important to him. That's why it's very difficult for him to adapt to the shelter kennel run, where there's no opportunity for daily outdoor walks, and he needs a home as soon as possible. Czesio has a friendly relationship with adults and children, isn't afraid of strangers, and isn't bothered by city traffic or noise. He doesn't react to cars, engines, or cyclists. His relationship with other dogs is mixed. He doesn't pay much attention to some, barks at others, and can be too pushy in close contact. Besides walks, the true passion of the Czech is snow. He plays in it and behaves like a child. Czesio is a happy and friendly dog. Nothing suggests that he's a bit older. He's very lively and loves to play, especially with sticks. He will be a great, unbothered companion for life and walks. Due to his not-too-big size, he can also comfortably live in an apartment. *The above description was created based on observations of the dog's behavior at the animal shelter. It should be noted that the dog's behavior may change after adoption. Czesio is a beautifully matted, slightly fluffy, senior with a puppy-like soul. Czesio (nr rej. P-6584/25) pies urodzony w styczniu 2016 r. Do schroniska trafił we wrześniu 2025 r. Czesio bez problemu daje zakładać sobie obroże i ładnie spaceruje na smyczy, jednak w chwilach dużego podekscytowania potrafi dość mocno pociągnąć. Niestraszny mu też ruch uliczny i zgiełk miasta. Będzie świetnym, nienachalnym towarzyszem życia i spacerów. About Czesio

What life with Czesio looks like

Czesio is a large adult mixed breed dog waiting at Schronisko Bialystok in Białystok.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Czesio, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Czesio?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Schronisko Bialystok handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Czesio on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Czesio if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Schronisko Bialystok will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Czesio already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Czesio isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Schronisko Bialystok early rather than rehoming privately; they know Czesio and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
