D2

Mixed Breed · Unknown

D2 came into our care along with his sibling, thanks to the help of familiar animal welfare advocates. The seven siblings had to be rescued from extremely poor conditions, and catching them was no easy task at all—so frightened were they of humans that we had to gently coax them one by one. Since then, however, they’ve all made tremendous progress. Fortunately, D2 quickly revealed his curious and open nature. He eagerly turns toward people, loves their company, and soon settled into the carefree daily life of young puppies. Today, he enjoys playing, exploring his surroundings, and is becoming increasingly brave as he gets to know the world around him. Of course, he still has a lot to learn, being such a young pup. Yet with a loving, patient, and consistent family by his side, we’re confident he’ll easily master everything a happy family dog needs. He’ll repay the care and attention he receives with loyalty and devotion, becoming a faithful and devoted companion to whoever gives him a chance. D2 is now ready to leave behind his difficult beginnings and finally experience what it feels like to live in a home where he’s loved, protected, and treated as a full-fledged member of the family.

HU·Show original

D2 hat testvérével együtt került a gondozásunkba ismerős állatvédők segítségével.

About D2

What life with D2 looks like

D2 is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Állatvédelmi Centrum in Hungary.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting D2, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about D2?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Állatvédelmi Centrum handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw D2 on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt D2 if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Állatvédelmi Centrum will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is D2 already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if D2 isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Állatvédelmi Centrum early rather than rehoming privately; they know D2 and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
