Dabasi Amigo

Male · Adult · 8 years

Amigo is a very kind and cute dog who has unfortunately had few opportunities to explore the world in his life. He previously lived only in the yard, so he was not socialized properly and did not know the leash. He is still a bit afraid of the leash, but he is getting better every day and is starting to get used to it at his own pace. With patience, love and consistent practice, he will surely become more confident. He gets along well with other dogs, he is friendly and peaceful. He can also move in with older children who understand that he needs time to process new situations. Amigo is a kind and lovable dog who is looking for a patient owner who does not expect immediate miracles from him, but lets him develop at his own pace. In return, he will get an extremely grateful, loyal and affectionate companion who will open up more and more to his new family with every small success.

HU·Show original

About Dabasi Amigo

What life with Dabasi Amigo looks like

Dabasi Amigo is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Szent Ferenc Állatotthon.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dabasi Amigo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dabasi Amigo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Szent Ferenc Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dabasi Amigo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dabasi Amigo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Szent Ferenc Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dabasi Amigo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dabasi Amigo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Szent Ferenc Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dabasi Amigo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
