Dadzis

Male · Young · 2 years

Adult: 2 years (09.2023). ID - 428274000189110; Mixed breed; country of origin - Latvia. Health status - no health problems observed. Other information: vaccinated, de-sexed, sterilized. Dadzis is a medium-sized dog with a character who came to us when found wandering on property near Lake Balota, in Kuku parish, Jēkabpils district. Active? Yes! Full of energy? Definitely! A little hyperactive? Well... almost always... The dog training school bell, it seems, was once unheard, the wisdom still needs to be learned, obedience can be a choice, and he really lives up to his name - a real dadzītis with a rough, slightly prickly coat and a sharp temperament. But behind these "pricks" lies a lively and friendly dog who is looking for a patient owner with a strong but fair character. A person who will not be overwhelmed by Dadz's energy, will know how to control him, teach him the ways of a proper dog, and show what a real home looks like. And Dadzis is ready for the opportunity to call someone their own, to smooth out his sharpness, learn, try and love. Dadzis is not suitable for living in an apartment and the new owner should be prepared that Dadz needs a large yard and provision of activities. Dadzis is available for adoption. For more information about the animal and adoption reservation contact ☎️28342253, on weekdays.

Vecums (aptuvenais): 2 gadi (09.2023.). MČ - 428274000189110; ). Bezšķirnes; izcelsmes valsts - Latvija. Veselības stāvoklis - veselības problēmas nav novērotas. Cita informācija: vakcinēts, assaplvains, sterilizēts. Dadzis – vidēji liela auguma suns ar raksturu, kurš nonāca pie mums, kad tika atrasts pieklīdis īpašumā pie Baļotas ezera, Kūku pagastā, Jēkabpils novadā. Aktīvs? Jā! Enerģijas pilns? Noteikti! Dadzis pieejams adopcijai. About Dadzis

What life with Dadzis looks like

Dadzis is a young adult dog waiting at Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme in Latvia.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇱🇻Adopting from Latvia

Frequently asked

Adopting Dadzis, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dadzis?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dadzis on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dadzis if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dadzis already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dadzis isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Jēkabpils Dzīvnieku Patversme early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dadzis and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (LV). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
