Daisy (on trial)

West Highland White Terrier · Female · Young · 3 years

A lively westie, looking for a new home Daisy is a 3 ½ year old Westie (Born Feb 2023) who has been returned to rescue through no fault of her own. She is a real live wire and loves to have a good run around and play. She has lived with children before so would be suitable for any 7yrs +. In the past she has lived with other dogs and although settled well she does prefer to be an only dog where she gets all the love and attention. She does pull a little on the lead when shes excited and wanting to get somewhere in a hurry but this would be easily fixed. She would really suit an active family able to take her out and about on adventures as she is certainly not a couch potato. Shes recently visited the groomer for a bath and a haircut and behaved well and any new owner would need to make this a regular routine. Her vaccinations including kennel cough were brought up to date in July and she was neutered when in the care of RDR originally. If you think you could offer the prefect home for a special little lady please email: with your contact details and brief details of the home you could offer.

About Daisy (on trial)

What life with Daisy (on trial) looks like

Daisy (on trial) is a young adult west highland white terrier dog waiting at Ryedale Dog Rescue in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daisy (on trial), answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daisy (on trial)?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ryedale Dog Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daisy (on trial) on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daisy (on trial) if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ryedale Dog Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daisy (on trial) already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daisy (on trial) isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ryedale Dog Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daisy (on trial) and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
