adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Daja has found her luck! Her story: The little, sweet Daja is a charming young female dog who finally wants to find her own home. Since she was a puppy, Daja lived with a family in the house. But eventually, the family no longer had an interest in her and wanted to simply release her in the mountains of Bistrița. Fortunately, an engaged animal rescuer was on site who rescued the little mouse in time and took her in. Daja is an exceptionally lovable and gentle female dog who simply wants to be loved. She already walks well on a leash, is cuddly, friendly, and very people-oriented. Her loving nature makes her a wonderful companion. She gets along very well with other dogs, and she also meets cats friendly and uncomplicated. For her young age of about 1.5 years, she brings an agreeably calm and balanced character. With her about 35 cm, she is also a delicate, small female dog on cute little paws. Daja has a shortened tail, which does not impair her in any way. Her left front paw is also slightly deformed. This is due to an unaddressed calcium deficiency in puppyhood. In everyday life, she gets along well with it. Now, Daja is looking for her home with loving people who can show her how wonderful dog life can be. She is a true dream dog: friendly, patient, full of trust in people, and simply lovable. Daja is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas and of course brings her EU pet passport. A heartfelt thank you to Andrea G. for the loving namingship. As of: 22.03.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen! About Daja

What life with Daja looks like

Daja is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Daja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
