Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Animal Now! Adoption Requirements Adoption Process Request this Dog Now! At the beginning of 2025, Dalia was able to travel to Denmark and move into her supposed forever home. Unfortunately, over time it became clear that living in a busy residential area was permanently too stressful for the sensitive dog. With a heavy heart, her family has therefore decided to find a more suitable home for Dalia—a place where she can truly find peace and feel safe. Currently, the almost two-year-old dog lives in Koblenz, 56077, and is waiting there for people who will give her the chance to finally settle down. Dalia stands about 55 cm tall, weighs around 17 kg, and possesses many wonderful qualities. However, she clearly shows that she needs time to build trust with unfamiliar people. When encountering strangers, she initially reacts with great uncertainty and often barks in response. Yet, she doesn't want to approach or seek conflict—rather, she tries to create distance through her behavior because the situation makes her anxious. Once you've earned her trust, though, Dalia reveals her true nature: she's an incredibly loving, affectionate, and loyal companion. She seeks close contact with her trusted humans, enjoys spending time together, and strongly orients herself toward her people. If you give her the time she needs, you'll gain a dog who forms an extremely close bond and loves her humans above all else. Dalia gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She loves playing with her peers and feels comfortable in a familiar pack. Dogs provide her with security and guidance, which is why a confident first dog could certainly be a helpful addition—but it's by no means a requirement for her.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Dalia

What life with Dalia looks like

Dalia is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dalia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dalia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dalia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dalia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dalia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dalia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dalia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
