Dalmo

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 3 months

Hi, I am Dalmo. I am a sweet boy who was brought to safety from a village together with my siblings. I am now staying at Dog Rose, where I am being cared for while I wait for my forever family. My vaccinations are currently in progress, and I will be ready to travel from mid-October. I am a friendly and gentle boy with a submissive nature. I am confident, curious and always happy to find an opportunity to play. My energy level is nicely balanced, and my confidence is already a wonderful 9/10. I am good with dogs, cats and children. I could be happy living in the city or the countryside, as long as I have a loving family by my side. When I am fully grown, I am expected to be medium-sized, around 20 kg. I also have a normal tail. I am Dalmo, and I am ready to grow from a playful village puppy into someone’s much-loved family dog. From mid-October, I can make the journey to the home where my new life will begin.

About Dalmo

What life with Dalmo looks like

Dalmo is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at The Dog Rose) in Dogrose.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇨🇭Adopting from Switzerland

Swiss shelters require a home visit (Platzkontrolle) and proof of suitable accommodation. Cantons each have their own additional dog-keeping requirements (e.g. SKN training in some areas). Animals leave sterilized and chipped.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dalmo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dalmo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. The Dog Rose) handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dalmo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dalmo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — The Dog Rose) will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dalmo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dalmo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with The Dog Rose) early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dalmo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
