Dama

Mixed Breed · Female · Puppy · 3 months

Name: Dama Breed: Mixed Breed Date of Birth: 2023 Gender: Female Size: Medium Weight: 11.5 kg Dama arrived at our shelter from the commune of Brańszczyk together with Joker, with whom she shares a special bond. It’s clear that these two dogs have been through a lot together. Dama is a gentle and calm dog. She approaches new people and the world around her with great caution. Changing her environment is quite challenging for her, but thanks to the patience and calm demeanor of her caregivers, she’s starting to take small steps forward and is becoming increasingly open to human contact. She is gentle and shows no signs of aggression. Dama also needs to learn how to walk on a leash. We’re looking for a patient and understanding home for her—one that will give her time to adjust to her new reality. DON’T BUY—ADOPT! A DOG THAT ENTERS OUR SHELTER IS SUBJECT TO A 14-DAY QUARANTINE PERIOD. If the owner does not pick up the dog within this period, it will be: vaccinated, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and we’ll begin searching for a new guardian for it. The adoption process requires filling out a questionnaire available on our website, agreeing to a pre- or post-adoption home visit, and signing an adoption agreement. About Dama

What life with Dama looks like

Dama is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dama, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dama?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dama on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dama if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dama already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dama isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dama and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
