Danja

Mixed Breed · Unknown · Young · 3 years

Danja is a loving, medium-sized mixed breed of 3 years old who needs time to learn to trust new people and situations. She finds strangers exciting, so we are looking for a patient owner who gives her the space to adjust at her own pace. Once Danja gets to know you, she shows her playful and energetic side. She is smart, eager to learn, and open to growing together. With other dogs, she is very social and really comes into her own. That’s why we prefer to place her with a stable dog that can help her feel more secure. Danja can be left alone for a few hours at home. We are looking for a quiet home without young children where she can get the time and guidance to continue growing.

NL·Show original

About Danja

What life with Danja looks like

Danja is a young adult mixed breed animal waiting at Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem in Netherlands.

Every animal has their own temperament and history. The shelter knows Danja far better than any listing can convey — ask about daily routine, ideal household, and what kind of adopter they're hoping for.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Danja, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Danja?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Danja on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Danja if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Danja already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most animals on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Danja isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Stichting Dierenasiel Gorinchem early rather than rehoming privately; they know Danja and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
