Danny

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 2 years

Danny is a male mixed breed dog, approximately 38-40 cm tall, born on 05.03.2024. He has been spayed and has no known health issues. Danny has been at the shelter since April 2026. He was rescued from a Romanian euthanasia center and is now living with us. Danny is a social dog who gets along well with other dogs. He is friendly, calm, and neutral around his own kind and enjoys being part of the dog group. Danny also likes people and enjoys being close to them, accompanying them around the shelter grounds. However, he is not very interested in physical contact or petting, so he tends to avoid it. Danny is looking for people who can give him time to adjust at his own pace and enjoy new experiences with him. A quiet home and understanding treatment would be very helpful for him. Those who get to know Danny will discover a strong-willed dog whose gentle nature touches the heart in a special way.

About Danny

What life with Danny looks like

Danny is a young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Günzburg in Günzburg.

A young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Danny, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Danny?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Günzburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Danny on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Danny if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Günzburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Danny already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Danny isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Günzburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Danny and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
