Adopt Dante

European Shorthair · Male · Adult · 4 years

Dante was found and picked up at a portal in Palencia capital. He was very, very sick, with his eyes completely closed, lots of mucus that made it hard to breathe, anemia, liver damage... the prognosis was not very hopeful, but after several days of hospitalization, treatments, and a blood transfusion... does this champion seem to have pulled through??? He still has a small respiratory noise (which may disappear in the future or not, but it's not significant), Dante is a completely healthy kitten. With enormous enthusiasm to be adopted and especially, to be happy in a permanent home???? If you want to be his family, want Dante to be the king of your home, don't wait any longer and write or call us. Dante, treasure: you're going to be very happy, you'll see!???? Contact: 667849696 – 657961568 www.protectoradepalencia.org ????Photo album of Dante: Search Instagram: and follow! If you can't take him in or adopt, help us spread the word, share, give a like… You never know which "share" will lead to finding him a home.

About Dante

What life with Dante looks like

Dante is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina in Spain.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇪🇸Adopting from Spain

Spanish protectoras generally include sterilization, all vaccinations, microchip ID, and EU pet passport in the adoption fee (typically €250–€400 for a dog, €100–€180 for a cat). Many maintain partnerships with rescue transport providers across the EU.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dante, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dante?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dante on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dante if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dante already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dante isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Protectora Defensa Animal Palentina early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dante and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (ES). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
