Dartagnan Milady

Mixed Breed · Male · Kitten

male and female drop-offs/adoptable for apartment living Born around July 2025 EKH neutered [x] yes / [] no Since in the animal shelter since 24.02.2026 ________________________ We test every cat with a quick test for FIV ("Cat AIDS", info here!) and FeLV ("Cat Leukemia", info here!) and clarify the status. We inform here about the risk of FIP disease ("Feline Infectious Peritonitis"). ________________________ D'Artagnan and Milady came to the animal shelter together with 14 other cats, including some pregnant ones, from an animal hoarding case. They lived with a person in a messy apartment. Fortunately, they were divided among several organizations, and in the end, seven tomcats and one cat remained with us. They are still very shy and reserved in new situations and when interacting with people, but are slowly becoming braver. D'Artagnan can already be stroked in quiet moments, and Milady is becoming more curious. We are looking for a loving, quiet home for them and are sure that with a little patience, they will become much more approachable and lively in a home environment. They generally get along well with other cats, but we would be very happy if they could find a shared place. We assume they are brother and sister, as they have always sought each other's company and snuggled up to each other. An apartment living situation would be sufficient for them, and a balcony would be nice. With the right living conditions and a lot of acclimatization, a free run could also be considered, but it should be very quiet outside. We hope so much for the two sweet kittens that their fate will now turn for the better and they will have a happy future! ________________________ (As of 29.04.2026) D'Artagnan: Milady: (Click the images to see them in full size!) The description reflects the current status, but we reserve the right to make changes or new assessments. It can always happen that an animal behaves or develops differently due to changes in their circumstances, both in the animal shelter and in their new home. This cat needs outdoor access.

About Dartagnan Milady

What life with Dartagnan Milady looks like

Dartagnan Milady is a puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Tierheim Marburg in Marburg.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dartagnan Milady, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dartagnan Milady?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Marburg handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dartagnan Milady on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dartagnan Milady if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Marburg will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dartagnan Milady already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dartagnan Milady isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Marburg early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dartagnan Milady and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
