Darwin was brought to us by an animal rescuer in May 2019 from the Necropole. There, the animals live in a terrible condition, overcrowded, with no shelter, little food, and often no water. The animals are in constant stress, and bites are common. Darwin was also a victim of this. He arrived with serious injuries, and our vet had to fight hard for him, but Darwin did not give up and made it. Today, he is doing well. He is lively and cheerful, happy to see visitors, but when he wants to be petted, he jumps away, though he always comes back. He wants so much to be close but just isn't quite ready. Darwin is about 3–4 years old (as of 2020). He gets along well with his buddies in the enclosure.

Darwin wurde uns von einer Tierschützerin im Mai 2019 auf der Necropole gebracht. Dort leben die Tiere in einem furchtbaren Zustand, zu eng, kein Unterschlupf, wenig Fressen und oft kein Wasser. Die Tiere sind im Dauerstress, häufig kommt es zur Beißerei. Auch Darwin wurde ein Opfer davon. Schwerst verletzt kam er bei uns an, unser Tierarzt musste lange um ihn kämpfen, aber Darwin hat nicht aufgegeben und hat es geschafft. Heute geht es ihm gut. Er ist munter und lustig, freut sich, wenn man ihn besucht, kommt auch her, wenn man ihn aber anfassen will, hüpft er wieder weg, kommt aber immer wieder an. Er möchte so gerne, traut sich aber nicht so ganz. Darwin ist erst ca. 3 – 4 Jahre (Stand 2020) alt. Mit seinen Kumpeln im Gehege kommt er gut klar.
