David

Male Β· Adult Β· 7 years

Meet David! This handsome lad initially found the cattery quite challenging, but with time and space his personality has blossomed! David can usually be found snoozing somewhere comfy and warm in his pen but he will always greet his visitors with some meows and lots of head bumps. He loves to spend time with his favourite people and will either snuggle up beside them or make himself comfy on their laps. One of David's favourite things is being kissed on the head! David may be a more mature cat, but he still runs around and plays like he is a kitten and climbs and plays on his cat tree. David can be quite nervous, and due to this, would be best suited living with a sensible older child who will understand that he will need time and space to settle. He should be fine to settle into a quiet corner of the home with all his resources close by and plenty of cosy hiding places. Due to his sensitive nature, he would benefit from having a permanent litter tray kept down for him. David will need a private garden in his new home so he can run around and burn off some of his excess energy. About David

What life with David looks like

David is an adult cat waiting at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction β€” every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting David, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about David?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home handles screening and the adoption contract directly β€” TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw David on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt David if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad β€” Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is David already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported β€” ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if David isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work β€” that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Battersea Dogs & Cats Home early rather than rehoming privately; they know David and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect β€” names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
