Adopt Daxo

Male · Puppy · 11 months

Daxo is an 11 month old, male lurcher pup looking for his forever home. Quite striking in looks, Daxo is a playful and affectionate boy who loves a good run. He loves to have fun once he feels comfortable with his playmate, human or canine, as he tends to be initially shy. With a little patience his sweet personality shines through and he is a delight to have around the place. An already resident friendly dog in the home to show him the way and help build his confidence would be a distinct advantage. He is not suited to a house with cats and he will need a high fenced, secure garden in his new home. Daxo is a gem and we’re sure he will be a great addition to a home. Daxo is microchipped 972274200469131, has been vaccinated, neutered and has received the usual preventative flea/worm treatments. If you have an interest in adopting Daxo and would like to discuss further, please call his Fosterer on during regular daytime hours. Daxo is currently in the care of Kildare and West Wicklow SPCA

About Daxo

What life with Daxo looks like

Daxo is a puppy/kitten dog waiting at ISPCA in Dublin.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Daxo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Daxo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ISPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Daxo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Daxo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ISPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Daxo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Daxo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ISPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Daxo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
