Delia

Mixed Breed · Female · Senior · 9 years

Was taken in: 2018.03.03. Took in at Noé Animal Shelter: 2019.05.15. Delia came to our care from the Papaj municipal pound with two companions. Very kind, friendly, young female dog. Adores people, forms bonds quickly, very important for her is contact, touch, praise, no aggression towards any person. We have information about her previous life that she is strongly prone to escape, which is why she is very affected by "cage captivity", usually quiet and very sad, sometimes complains and whimpers. Unfortunately, Delia was given a short time of a domestic life. Due to inappropriate keeping conditions, she was returned to our care. Would be very happy with an active owner with whom she can run, hike and of course has a secure fence. We are looking for a home for her where she can be a full family member. Very much want this lovely dog a safe, permanent, loving home. Dog school is definitely recommended for her. Delia is vaccinated, microchipped, spayed and can be adopted. More pictures HERE!

Szergénybe bekerült: 2018.03.03.Noé Állatotthonba bekerült: 2019.05.15.Delia három társával került a pápai gyepmesteri telepről gondozásunkba. About Delia

What life with Delia looks like

Delia is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Noé Állatotthon in Budapest.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

Note from the shelter: Escape artist - requires secure fencing

🇭🇺Adopting from Hungary

Hungarian shelters operate at high capacity given the country's stray population. Animals leave sterilized, chipped, and with a passport. Many shelters coordinate transport to Germany, Austria, and the Nordics.

Frequently asked

Adopting Delia, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Delia?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Noé Állatotthon handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Delia on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Delia if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Noé Állatotthon will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Delia already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Delia isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Noé Állatotthon early rather than rehoming privately; they know Delia and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (HU). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
