Della

Mixed Breed · Female

Meet Mama Della.,a gorgeous silver-and-white tabby who has officially clocked out of motherhood and is ready to enjoy her retirement in the lap of luxury! After raising her four babies, Della feels she’s more than earned her place as the pampered princess of the household. No more night shifts, no more childcare duties… just naps, snacks, and being told how beautiful she is. And honestly, who could argue with that? 💅 Della is a gentle, sweet girl who will happily accept all the head rubs you have to offer. Being picked up isn’t quite her cup of tea, though — she prefers to keep all four paws on the ground and her dignity intact, thank you very much! 😂 When she’s not snoozing the day away, she can be found keeping an eye on her foster friends and making sure they’re house-trained. She may be retired from raising babies, but apparently, she hasn’t quite retired from management! 👀 Once she’s settled into her new home, Della would love a friendly feline companion to cuddle up with. Every queen needs a snuggle buddy for her afternoon naps, after all. 🐱💤 Are you ready to give this lovely lady the peaceful, pampered life she deserves? Della is ready to hang up her mum hat, put her paws up, and enjoy being someone’s very special girl. ❤️👑 Cat Adoption Application DAFM No KPT 200001C

About Della

What life with Della looks like

Della is an adult mixed breed cat waiting at Laois SPCA in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇮🇪Adopting from Ireland

Irish shelters require a home check (often phone or video) and an adoption contract. Animals are vaccinated, chipped, and registered. Cross-border placements to mainland Europe require the rabies titer test (TRACES system).

Frequently asked

Adopting Della, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Della?: Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Laois SPCA handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Della on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Della if I live in another country?: Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Laois SPCA will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Della already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?: Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Della isn't the right fit?: Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Laois SPCA early rather than rehoming privately; they know Della and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?: TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
