adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Demi has found its home! Her story: Demi is still waiting for her forever home! Her brother Manou has already found his. This poor soul was found on the streets of Romania with her brother. She was nearly frozen, but was fortunately rescued in time. Now she is in safety, but she desperately wants to arrive with her people. She longs for a loving and comfortable home. Demi is a sweetie, she has quickly adapted to the daily routine of the foster home. She is house-trained and already runs well on a leash. She is compatible with other animals. In her foster home, she likes to play with the existing dogs. Demi is a cheerful nature, open and very people-oriented, she loves to cuddle and always wants to be with her people. She finds both children and adults equally great. She has already met cats. Driving is still not her favorite, she needs to learn that. Demi is currently about 8 months old, has a shoulder height of 47 cm and weighs 15 kg, so she belongs to the medium-sized dogs and will grow a lot more due to her age. Demi has a great character and would fit almost any household. Whether for extensive walks, cozy evenings on the sofa, or great sniffing games, with Demi you will always have fun. However, her new family should be aware that Demi still has to learn the whole puppy ABC and will also enter puberty. During this phase, she will likely test boundaries and may even forget some things she has learned. But once this phase is overcome, Demi will definitely be a great lifelong companion. Demi is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and flea-treated. She has an EU pet passport and will only be placed after a positive assessment. She would be delighted to meet you. Demi can be introduced upon agreement. Many thanks, Astrid! You named Demi. Status: 21.01. Gets along with other dogs.

Vielen Dank Astrid! Du hast Demi ihren Namen geschenkt. Stand: 21.01.2025

About Demi

What life with Demi looks like

Demi is a medium-sized puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Demi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Demi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Demi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Demi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Demi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Demi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Demi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
