adoption requirements adoption process Adopt this animal now! adoption requirements adoption process Devi has found her home! Her story: With Devi, a lively and active, young female dog was recently taken in by the Stray Nest. She clearly enjoys being able to move freely and explore her surroundings. It is truly breathtaking to watch her. Despite being confined and lacking variety in the shelter in Baia Mare since her puppyhood, and only learning about a tiny slice of the world, she currently behaves a bit insecurely. However, she shows a lot of curiosity, which is a very good foundation for quick learning. Three years ago, the sweet Devi was found alone and abandoned. Desperately wandering around, she searched in vain for shelter from snow, mud, and icy temperatures. Now, however, she has the opportunity from the Stray Nest to find her people and learn about the sunny sides of life! With her soft, gray fur and white markings, Devi is a beautiful female dog that has just reached adulthood. Her gaze is now confidently directed towards the future. She is approximately 3 years old and of medium size, about 55-60 cm. It is certain that Devi will adapt well to her new home, even though she has no experience with life as a house dog. She is already leash-friendly, and we are optimistic that the clever Devi will quickly learn dog 1×1 and become a well-mannered and self-assured female dog that can accompany her people faithfully and reliably in all activities. Devi would surely appreciate a visit to a positively working dog training class, which would boost her confidence and support her bond with the new owners. With high probability, she would also be enthusiastic about dog sports of any kind. For Devi, we wish active and sporty people who will meet her patiently and affectionately and give her enough time to find her footing in the new situation. A foster home would also be a great opportunity for her. Many thanks to Daniela B.! You have given Devi her name! As of 12.12. This animal is vaccinated. Walks well on a leash.

Vielen Dank Daniela B.! Du hast Devi ihren Namen geschenkt! Stand: 12.12.2024

About Devi

What life with Devi looks like

Devi is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Devi, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Devi?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Devi on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Devi if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Devi already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Devi isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Devi and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
