Devil

Male · Senior · 11 years

Devil is a kind and very social dog, but he needs to build trust with people first. Therefore, the future owner should come and meet him several times. Once he gets used to it, he is a nice companion who loves water, tennis balls and any toys. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys walks. He gets along with other dogs individually, he is not especially aggressive. He has problems with wheels, which strongly upset him. He is particular about feeding - he can guard his food, so he needs to be fed separately and given peace without contact during feeding. For this reason, he is not suitable for small children. An ideal home for him is a house with a garden where he will have his own space. He has mild hip dysplasia and spondylosis of the spine, so he needs a calmer regime and joint nutrition.

CS·Show original

Má lehkou dysplazii kyčle a spondylózu páteře, potřebuje proto klidnější režim a kloubní výživu.

About Devil

What life with Devil looks like

Devil is a large senior dog waiting at Útulek Přerov in Přerov-Přerov 2.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇨🇿Adopting from Czech Republic

Czech shelters (útulky) include sterilization, vaccinations, and microchip ID. The adopter signs a written contract (smlouva) — the shelter may follow up to verify wellbeing.

Frequently asked

Adopting Devil, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Devil?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Útulek Přerov handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Devil on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Devil if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Útulek Přerov will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Devil already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Devil isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Útulek Přerov early rather than rehoming privately; they know Devil and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (CS). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
