Dex

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

Do we have any fans of Staffordshire Bull Terriers, American Staffordshire Terriers, and other "bull" breeds? Meet Dex! His 5-year-old life hasn't been easy. He was taken in by intervention. He lived in a cramped enclosure, didn't go for walks, and his bowl wasn't always full... Fortunately, that's all behind him! Dex hasn't had the chance to build a good relationship with humans. He doesn't have high expectations, doesn't realize that you can be friends with a human, that a human can give you something and be more than just a hand to hold the leash and give food. Dex can be petted, you can take the braided leash out of his paws, he has no problem with touch. He seems distracted, can't focus too much on a human. It's probably a matter of time before Dex learns what real life should be like in the right hands. What Dex loves is walks! It's a great pleasure to assist him with that. He walks nicely on a leash, doesn't pull. He calmly explores the area and traffic and cars are no problem. Dex is a medium-sized dog, with a sturdy body. He is about 5 years old. There is a case in his matter. For now, adoption to a temporary home is possible, with the option of moving to a permanent home. Dex is a dog in the type of a calm stroller, who really deserves a new, better life! More information: volunteer Karolina

Czy mamy tu miłośników Staffików, Amstaffów i innych „bułek” w typie TTB? Poznajcie Dexa!

About Dex

What life with Dex looks like

Dex is a medium-sized puppy mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Puszatek in Warszawa.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adopters usually cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dex, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dex?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Puszatek handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dex on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dex if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Puszatek will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dex already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dex isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Puszatek early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dex and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
