Dianka

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 7 years

Diana is a lovely female dog who needs a home full of patience and understanding. Due to difficult experiences in the past, she has lost her confidence, but if she finds the right caregivers who will provide her with peace, a sense of security and time to get used to the new situation, she will become a real treasure. Her new family must be aware that Diana needs time to build trust and self-confidence. It would be ideal if the caregivers worked with a behaviorist to help Diana find her way in the new place. She requires stability, clear boundaries, and a caregiver who will be her guide, showing her that life is not so scary. Diana does not always react well to strangers, so initially she should not be exposed to guests coming to the house. Over time, when she feels more confident, she will become a wonderful, beloved companion. The family that Diana moves into must be aware of the work she requires; they should be equipped with patience, empathy, and understanding of her situation. It would be ideal if they had a large space in the house and a kennel where Diana can hide or where she can be sent if needed. Our volunteer, who spends a lot of time with her, says about her: "She's absolutely wonderful! She loves people once she gets to know them. She responds to calls, and especially licking her back is her favorite form of affection! She is also full of energy and the desire to play - balls, tug toys, everything that can be chased or pulled brings her great joy." Diana is spayed, dewormed, and vaccinated. She lived with another young female dog, Lunka, with whom she formed a harmonious duo, and Lunka has already found a home. Diana is about 7 years old, a larger female dog, weighing around 29 kg. Dianka requires work, we offer free support from a behaviorist at the beginning and a discount on subsequent visits. Diana was under the care of Ekostraza in 2021 with 2-day-old puppies, which found homes, Diana herself also found a home, unfortunately she returned to us due to serious problems with her previous caregivers. Come and meet her, fall in love! Under the care of Ekostraza since 25.07.2024.

About Dianka

What life with Dianka looks like

Dianka is a adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja EkoStraż in Wrocław.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dianka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dianka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja EkoStraż handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dianka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dianka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja EkoStraż will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dianka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dianka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja EkoStraż early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dianka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
