Diary

Male · Kitten · 3 months

Nutter und Sohn Geaonn is looking for a new home. That sounds exciting. If you can run around and play... great! Mom doesn't like that too much. So, playing with people. I don't think they're so bad. I don't jump on anyone's arms right away, but I'll play with a stuffed mouse or something. I don't mind petting, either. As long as I know the face in front of me. Otherwise, I'll quickly run behind Mom's back. Even when I'm big. That's why I think a combination would be good. Mom Dolly can retreat when she wants to, and she can play when I want to. Pure indoor living wouldn't work for us. That's not for Mom. She needs to get out. Dogs and kids aren't really playmates for us either. If you have a "playground" for me and a retreat for my Mom... you can call the shelter and let us know... Animal adoptions are currently by appointment only. If you're interested in one of our animals, please contact us in advance by phone at 05481 / 4146 or by email.

About Diary

What life with Diary looks like

Diary is a puppy/kitten cat waiting at Tierheim Tecklenburger Land in Lengerich.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diary, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diary?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Tecklenburger Land handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diary on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diary if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Tecklenburger Land will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diary already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diary isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Tecklenburger Land early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diary and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
