Diego

Male · Young · 3 years

Dog sizes vary greatly. The following categories will help you better understand the world of small, medium, large, and giant dogs. It is important to consider weight, height, and body structure. We present to you Diego, an imposing "prince" with a big heart, born approximately in July 2022. He came to us, together with his sister Donna, when he was very young, having been rescued from the public Grivei shelter in Oradea. For reasons hard to understand, he spent his childhood in our shelter, but we believe that finally, it's his time. Diego is a calm, patient, and gentle dog. Although he has an imposing presence, he has a warm heart and a noble soul. He gets along well with other dogs and is the kind of loyal companion who rewards your love with devotion. After so many years, he only wishes for one thing: to be able to call someone his family. Diego is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered - fully prepared to find his place where he can truly feel at home. Many dogs, so many. I could never have imagined that people could be so cruel and abandon such souls. Right now, I am ashamed to be part of the biped species. I have no words, I cannot express in words the respect and appreciation for the team that takes care of them. Congratulations!!! Well done!!!

Deși are o prezență impunătoare, are o inimă caldă și un suflet nobil. Bravo!!!

About Diego

What life with Diego looks like

Diego is a extra-large young adult dog waiting at SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea in Sisterea.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Diego, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Diego?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Diego on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Diego if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Diego already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Diego isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Diego and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
