Dino

Lurcher · Male · Young · 2 years

Hi, I'm Dino. I'm a 2 1/2 year old male Lurcher. I am a friendly boy who enjoys meeting and greeting new people, although sometimes I cna get a little over-excited and jump up, but I am working on this! I am a smart boy and really enjoy engaging in training, I have learnt a fun "moonwalk"! I am always eager to please and enjoy working my brain at the same time, I would love to do some fun activities with my owner. I enjoy playing with my toys, I have one teddy bear that is my favourite, and you can often find me curled up on the sofa with it, I am good with my housetraining and will wake you up to let you know I need to go out, but once I have had my tasty breakfast, I am happy to chill around the house. I am happy to be left for a few hours, but my new owners should understand this will need building up slowly. I enjoy my exercise, I have been working really hard on my loose lead walking, and I now walk well on my lead. I enjoy going to secure fields to burn off some of my energy! I enjoy the company of other dogs, and walk well with dogs, however I can sometimes need some time to build confidence, but once we are friends, I love a good play! I would need to be the only pet in the home and would need a fully secure garden to play in. If you are looking for a fun, loving and active companion, Dino may be the boy for you! Please note, Dino is on our home direct scheme and not at the centre.

About Dino

What life with Dino looks like

Dino is a young adult lurcher dog waiting at Greyhound Rescue Wales in United Kingdom.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Greyhound Rescue Wales handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Greyhound Rescue Wales will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Greyhound Rescue Wales early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
