Dino

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 11 years

🐾 Dino is searching for his first real home 🐾 The handsome Dino, born in May 2015, has only known life in the animal shelter. Since his birth, he has lived in a pack with other dogs at the shelter. While many of his friends are still very shy, Dino is one of the most outgoing – he walks calmly on the leash, enjoys the company of humans, and loves to be petted. Dino shows a calm and balanced demeanor. On walks, he remains composed, ignores passing dogs, and even shares a peaceful spot with male dogs – with a gentle introduction. He can’t seem to get into play with toys, as he has never known them in the animal shelter. But he loves attention, cuddles, and the company of humans – things that are completely new to him and which he so desperately wishes for. Since Dino has only known life outdoors, he will need some time to adjust to a home. At first, he might be unsure or make small mistakes. But with patience, understanding, and loving companionship, he will quickly gain trust and become a loyal companion. Dino is not an aggressive dog – he does not bite. If something is uncomfortable for him, he shows it through growling or grumbling. He simply needs people who take him seriously, give him security, and show him that he has nothing to fear. Unfortunately, many visitors overlook the black, older male dog at the animal shelter. Quiet and unassuming, he waits day after day for someone to discover him. He deserves so much to finally get his own dog bed and a loving home. 💛 Dino wishes for people with some dog experience, ideally with a home and yard or enough time to show him step by step what life in a family is like. He wants to finally arrive – and he has so much love to give. Who will give this wonderful dog the chance of a lifetime?. This animal has a history of biting.

About Dino

What life with Dino looks like

Dino is a large senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. in Stuttgart.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fellnasen Stuttgart e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
