Adopt Django ♂

Mixed Breed · Female · Adult · 6 years

Where can Django arrive? The good-natured Django came into the world at the animal shelter almost 6 years ago; his mother, a Golden Retriever-mixed-breed female dog, was then given up. From his appearance, he clearly has nothing in common with her – but he certainly inherited her friendly and lovable character. Django was rehomed as a puppy into his new home, but he has now returned to us for personal reasons. Django is not at fault in any way, for he is simply a loving and sympathetic treasure who also approaches strangers with openness and desires to be petted. Django is very people-oriented and longs for close physical contact. He enjoys extensive cuddling sessions, likes to sprawl in a cozy bed or on the sofa, and is simply happy when he can be with his trusted people. Our knowledge shows that he has not yet met any children, so it would be better if only older children and teenagers lived in his new family. Django’s highlight is going on long walks together with his human, Herrchen or Frauchen. When you take his leash, he starts to squeal with joy and dances around in excitement. On the way, he walks quite well, without pulling or tugging. As he unfortunately shows some prey drive, he should be kept on a leash for safety. Django is, of course, house-trained, can behave well in the house, does no damage, and can also be left alone for short periods. He gets along well with other dogs in general. Only cats are not part of his circle of friends. Django is a really good guy, a loyal soul with whom you can go through thick and thin. But that can only happen with someone. Therefore, the sunshine is looking for loving people who can accompany him through life, integrate him into their daily routine, on whom he can rely, and with whom he can grow into a really great team.

Wo darf Django ankommen?

About Django ♂

What life with Django ♂ looks like

Django ♂ is a medium-sized adult mixed breed dog waiting at Tierheim Kronach in Marktrodach.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Django ♂, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Django ♂?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Kronach handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Django ♂ on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Django ♂ if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Kronach will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Django ♂ already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Django ♂ isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Kronach early rather than rehoming privately; they know Django ♂ and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
