adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Now request this dog! Django can stay forever! His story: Django has been searching for a home for almost a year now. He is currently about two years old. His brother Divan is still waiting for his family as well. Caution, risk of confusion: Django and his brother Divan look almost identical. Two black beauties who are not only similar in appearance but also in character. Their start in life was anything but easy. The two were found as tiny puppies in a sack by a river, thrown away like trash, and likely intended to be drowned. Despite everything, they have not lost their fighting spirit. Django is about 50 cm tall today, weighs around 20 kg, and shows a cheerful, friendly, and open nature. He is friendly and likes people, whether adults or children. He gets along well with other dogs. Whether he likes cats, we cannot say. He is still not familiar with a leash and collar, but he is eager to learn and will surely adapt with a little patience. Django wishes for a loving home where he can settle in peace. He probably has no idea what life in a house is like. With a calm, clear, and loving guidance, he will develop quickly. As he is a young dog, he might still have puppyish behavior where he questions what he has learned. This phase will pass and offers a great opportunity to build a close bond. Long walks in nature and a visit to dog training classes would please him very much. There, you can together discover what activities make him happy and mentally and physically challenge him. Django travels microchipped, neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and flea-treated. He also has his EU pet passport with him. After a positive stay in a foster home, he would also be very happy. Many thanks, Leni! You have given Django a name and thus his chance at a long, happy dog life. Date: 03.12.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt diesen Hund anfragen!

About Django

What life with Django looks like

Django is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Django, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Django?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Django on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Django if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Django already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Django isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Django and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
