Adopt Dobby

Mixed Breed · Male · Senior · 9 years

Dobby is a small, mature male dog. He weighs only 5kg. He came to us neglected, very thin, with skin problems. Should old age be spent in an animal shelter? 🙁 Dobby is a kind, gentle, very people-oriented dog. He currently lives with other seniors in the shelter's clinic, and gets along well with them. We don't want him to waste time in an animal shelter, full of noise and frustration from other dogs. Dobby needs warmth, care and his own person. He needs someone who will love him, hug him, and with whom he can fall asleep on the sofa on cold, dark evenings, and in the morning go for a walk and return to a warm home. 🔵 Are you interested in adoption? Dobby to maleńki, dojrzały samczyk. Waży jedynie 5kg. Trafił do nas zaniedbany, chudziutki, z problemami skórnymi. Dobby potrzebuje ciepła, troski i swojego człowieka. Potrzebuje kogoś kto go pokocha, przytuli, z kim razem będzie zasypiał na sofie w zimne, ciemne wieczory, a rano wyjdzie z nim na spacer by znów wrócić do ciepłego domu. 🔵 Jesteś zainteresowany adopcją? About Dobby

What life with Dobby looks like

Dobby is a small senior mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Viva Korabiewice in Korabiewice.

Senior dogs settle in faster than younger ones. They want a soft bed, predictable meals, and short, sniff-heavy walks rather than runs. Many senior rescues bond deeply within weeks because they understand exactly how good a stable home is. Expect occasional vet visits for joint or dental care.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dobby, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dobby?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Viva Korabiewice handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dobby on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dobby if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Viva Korabiewice will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dobby already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dobby isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Viva Korabiewice early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dobby and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
