Dodger

Mixed Breed · Male · Young · 1 year

adoption requirements adoption process Now request this animal! adoption requirements adoption process Dodger was locally rehomed! All the best! His story: Seeking a family! The lively Dodger is waiting for your request! Check him out! Dodgers exuberance is truly written on his face. He smiles kindly at the camera, as if he knows exactly what it's about. But he does it just like his nature: he will be described as very friendly and cute. Dodger is only about 1 year old and has his whole life ahead of him. He is young and active and might also bring the occasional pubescent flounce. At about 55 – 60 cm, he is a medium-sized dog. He is compatible with his fellow animals. He has not yet met any cats. Dodgers' past is unknown to us. It is likely that he does not know an appropriate life and has to learn everything. But he is a clever and open male dog, so we assume that he will quickly learn the rules of his new life. If he finds people who are understanding and give him the time he needs, it will surely be a perfect match. Dodger does not know living in a household, going for regular walks, or having people around him who give him attention. But all of this will he surely enjoy very much. Regular contact with his fellow animals should not be lacking either. An important aspect is a positively reinforcing training style, and if he attends dog training classes, these should also work positively. Our Dodger travels neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, dewormed, and treated for fleas to his new home. He brings his EU pet passport with him and can be placed after a positive But also a foster home could be his springboard into a new life. Infatuated with the teddy bear face? Then contact us! Many thanks Drea N.! You gave Dodger a name and thus an identity! Date: 05.08.

Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Jetzt dieses Tier anfragen! Vermittlungsvoraussetzungen Vermittlungsablauf Dodger wurde lokal vermittelt! Alles Liebe! Seine Geschichte: Auf der Suche nach einer Familie! Der lebensfrohe Dodger wartet auf deine Anfrage! Schaut ihn euch an! Vielen Dank Drea N.! Stand: 05.08.2023

About Dodger

What life with Dodger looks like

Dodger is a large young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. in München.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dodger, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dodger?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dodger on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dodger if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dodger already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dodger isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Ein Herz für Streuner e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dodger and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
