Doghino

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 5 months

During our Sardinian tour in March 2026, of course, a visit to the Rifugio of LIDA in Olbia was on our agenda, where we were eagerly awaited. Then, as always, there were several new arrivals that wanted to be introduced to us. Among these new arrivals was this nice puppy: Doghino. He was found on February 1, 2026, wandering alone in Olbia. The poor little one – estimated to be around just two months old – was undoubtedly abandoned. And this was during a time when the weather on Sardinia was very cold, stormy, and rainy. Why would someone do such a thing to a puppy: snatch it from its mother, who surely was searching for it, and leave it to its fate? If he had not been found, he surely would not have survived. So, the puppy was lucky: he was brought to the Rifugio of LIDA, and thus had a chance. For the little one, love was provided at the Rifugio, so he could recover and gain strength. We were certainly happy to get to know this lovely puppy. Even though the photo session probably wasn't to his liking, Doghino showed itself to be friendly and kind. For his further development, it would be advantageous if he could leave the Rifugio as soon as possible and experience a part of his puppy and imprinting phase in a familiar environment. Would you like to give the lovely Doghino a dream home with a tight family connection? May 6, 2026: During our team project tour, we not only got to know wonderful partners, but also these four special little fur noses. The brothers Bonito, Bricko, Bueno, and Doghino have developed wonderfully – friendly, open-minded, and full of trust. Grateful for every small affection and with open hearts, they are eagerly waiting to find their own loving homes. If you are currently looking for a new furry family member and are aware that adoption brings not only great joy but also a lot of work and great responsibility, we look forward to your message. We provide placements throughout the country.

About Doghino

What life with Doghino looks like

Doghino is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at ProTier e.V. in Germany.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Doghino, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Doghino?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. ProTier e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Doghino on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Doghino if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — ProTier e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Doghino already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Doghino isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with ProTier e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Doghino and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
