Dolly

British Shorthair · Female · Young · 2 years

Could you be Dolly's purrfect home?Hello Dolly!Gorgeous, gorgeous girl Dolly came to us from an owner who was really struggling to cope with her long term gastrointestinal problems, things had become very difficult and entrenched. But we're delighted to say that since being in our care Dolly has recovered incredibly well and is now putting on weight, and doing wonderfully well. She is now ready to find her new home. Darling Dolly needs a loving home where her adopters will adhere strictly to her current diet of being exclusively fed on KatKin, Marro or a good quality raw food diet. So that means no dried food, no treats and no pinching other pet’s food. Or human food either. Being on this strict diet has transformed Dolly's life - she's gone from being in constant discomfort and diarrhoea, to feeling relaxed, well and happy. She's looking a million times better! Dolly has lived with other cats but to reduce the risk of her eating inappropriate food, she should be adopted as the only animal in the household. Dolly is a sweet natured and gentle cat, she's adorable. She needs a quiet, loving home where she'll be adored and cared for. Darling Dolly has now been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Dolly is a beautiful cat; she's a pedigree British Shorthair, but we weren't given her papers. If you feel you can give Dolly the care she needs, please get in touch.

About Dolly

What life with Dolly looks like

Dolly is a young adult british shorthair cat waiting at Swansea Cats and Kittens in United Kingdom.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dolly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dolly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Swansea Cats and Kittens handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dolly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dolly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Swansea Cats and Kittens will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dolly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dolly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Swansea Cats and Kittens early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dolly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
