Dolly

Mixed Breed · Female · Kitten · 20 months

Dolly is related to Ned Lucky Dusty Dolly and her kittens had been found abandoned on a street in a large carrier. They were taken to a vet practice and we agreed to take them all in. Now her kittens don't need her she has been spayed, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. She has recently been moved to a foster home and here's what they say about her. Dolly is a beautiful calico cat with stunning markings, including a unique spot on her nose and a wonderfully fluffy, expressive tail. She has been confident from day one and loves to play, explore, and investigate everything around her. Dolly can be quite chatty when she has something to say and enjoys interacting with people. She does have quite a cheeky personality and enjoys watching birds and other cats from our windowsill. Dolly would thrive in a home where she receives plenty of regular company and affection but she also appreciates having her own space. With her confident personality, she would be best with adults and older children. OK with older childrenGarden requiredDolly has been neutered, microchipped and is fully vaccinated

About Dolly

What life with Dolly looks like

Dolly is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed cat waiting at Hounslow Animal Welfare Society in United Kingdom.

Kittens are tiny chaos engines for about six months and then mellow rapidly. They need two scheduled feedings, a litter box per cat plus one extra, and somewhere high to climb. Spay/neuter happens around six months — most shelters arrange this before adoption.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dolly, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dolly?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hounslow Animal Welfare Society handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dolly on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dolly if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hounslow Animal Welfare Society will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dolly already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dolly isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hounslow Animal Welfare Society early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dolly and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
