Donna

Female · Young · 3 years

Dog sizes vary greatly. The following categories help you better understand the world of small, medium, large and giant dogs. It is important to take into account weight, height and body structure. Meet Donna, a large and gentle "princess," born around July 2022. She came to us when she was very young, along with her brother, Diego, having been rescued from the public Grivei shelter in Oradea. Although she hasn't found a home when she was a puppy, we believe that now, as an adult, it's her time. Donna has a calm and friendly nature, gets along well with other dogs, although she is slightly protective of her food. She is a loyal soul, grateful for the attention and care she receives. She is currently in our shelter and can be visited by prior appointment. Donna is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed - fully prepared to find her place where she will truly feel at home. So many dogs, so many. I could never imagine people being so bad and abandoning these souls like this. I am ashamed to be part of the biped species. I have no words, I cannot express in words the respect and appreciation for the team taking care of them. Congratulations!!! Well done!!!

Bravo!!!

About Donna

What life with Donna looks like

Donna is a extra-large young adult dog waiting at SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea in Sisterea.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇷🇴Adopting from Romania

Romanian rescues handle the highest volume of cross-border adoptions in the EU. Animals are quarantined and fully vetted before transport. Reputable rescues maintain detailed health records and post-adoption follow-up.

Frequently asked

Adopting Donna, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Donna?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Donna on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Donna if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Donna already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Donna isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with SOS Dogs — FPCC Oradea early rather than rehoming privately; they know Donna and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (RO). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
