Dora

Mixed Breed Cat · Female

Dora had actually once had a home with an elderly lady in Romania. Unfortunately, she was not spayed and became pregnant. From that point on, her owner no longer wanted to keep her and planned to simply abandon the little cat on the street. Fortunately, our animal rights activist noticed this and was able to take Dora in. Today, Dora is safe and shows what a magical little personality she has: she is super friendly, playful and just a cheerful, lively cat who wants to enjoy life. Now she only needs one thing - a loving home where she can stay forever and never again feel unwanted.Since our local animal rights activist is currently taking care of many animals and dealing with numerous emergencies every day, we currently have no further details about her. We still want to present her to you - because maybe she is waiting for her person. If you have any questions or want to learn more about her, you can contact us at any time. We will then ask our local animal rights activist for the desired information. Please note:The feedback from animal shelters and foster homes reflects the current behavior of the animals here.

About Dora

What life with Dora looks like

Dora is an adult mixed breed cat cat waiting at Tierischgeholfen e.V. in Germany.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Dogs and cats typically leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with an EU pet passport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierischgeholfen e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierischgeholfen e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Transport is usually a separate cost, so ask for the exact figure before you commit.
Is Dora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierischgeholfen e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
