Adopt Dora

Mixed Breed · Female

Dora1 year oldabout 40 cmVisually she reminds one of a Mini-Briard Shepherd breedDora is an approximately one-year-old female dog with an exceptionally cheerful and joyful nature. She had the good fortune to grow up in a home and is already familiar with life indoors. Currently, she lives without problems in a household with an older female dog as well as cats. Unfortunately, her over 80-year-old owners can no longer adequately care for her, so Dora is now urgently seeking a new, loving home. The young female dog is playful, funny, and very eager to learn. In new or unfamiliar situations, she sometimes still shows herself a bit unsure - simply because she lacks experience. With sensitive guidance, however, she will quickly gain confidence.Dora is very people-oriented and loves to cuddle. She actively seeks out the company of her trusted people and greatly enjoys spending time with them. In everyday life, she doesn't necessarily need another dog, but gets along well with fellow animals - a single dog situation would therefore be absolutely possible.Sofar, she was used to walking around independently in the village. Therefore, she may still learn to orient herself more strongly outside with her human. However, initial exercises have shown that she has a great interest in training and understands new things quickly.Dora is an active, cheerful, and cuddly female dog who, with the right leadership and lots of love, will grow into a wonderful companion.Contact:

Dora1 Jahr altca. Kontakt:60181610176 64149536

About Dora

What life with Dora looks like

Dora is a very small adult mixed breed dog waiting at Hundesuche Tiere in Not Bayern in Germany.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dora, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dora?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Hundesuche Tiere in Not Bayern handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dora on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dora if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Hundesuche Tiere in Not Bayern will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dora already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dora isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Hundesuche Tiere in Not Bayern early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dora and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
