Dotka

Mixed Breed · Female · Young · 2 years

First 1.5 years of her life was spent on a leash in Podlasie. Fortunately, this is now in the past. This is an offer for active users of green meadows, forests and fields. Local users are also welcome, provided they have more than just a walk with a flexi leash around the block in their offer. A few words about Dotcja. She is about 2.5 years old, weighs about 15 kg. Her heart beats for people like a bell. Dotcja loves everyone and is extremely trusting and open to new acquaintances. Her head is full of ideas and willingness for adventures and active time spending. She is a sociable, determined female dog, with a touch of reactivity, which needs to be guided and shaped by a wise hand. She is gentle and has no difficulty in learning about the world. We recommend her for a home without other animals. During walks she accepts dogs, but in limited space she is somewhat reserved towards them. She can easily live in a house with children. Dotcja doesn't know the city, but we assume that urban stimuli will not cause her any problems. We recommend her for an area with spacious green walking areas. Dotka is staying in a hotel near Warsaw.

Cechuje ją łagodność i brak trudności w poznawaniu świata. Polecamy ja do domu bez innych zwierząt. Polecamy ją do okolicy obszernej w zielone tereny spacerowe. Dotka przebywa w hotelu w okolicach Warszawy.

About Dotka

What life with Dotka looks like

Dotka is a medium-sized young adult mixed breed dog waiting at Fundacja Zwierzęca Polana in Warszawa.

An young adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dotka, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dotka?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Zwierzęca Polana handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dotka on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dotka if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Zwierzęca Polana will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dotka already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dotka isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Zwierzęca Polana early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dotka and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
