Dottige Dingo

Male · Adult · 5 years

Dingo is a sweet 9.5-year-old Maltese (09-02-2017) who is looking for a nice and quiet home where he can spend his golden years. Unfortunately, his previous owner was unable to care for him due to circumstances. That's why he ended up in our shelter. Dingo is a friendly boy who enjoys interacting with people. He loves attention and is happy to be close to his humans. Dingo still enjoys walks, but it's important to consider his physical limitations. He has a condition in one of his legs, which can cause him discomfort at times. As a result, he can no longer walk for long periods (10-15 minutes). At the moment, he doesn't need daily pain medication, but it's possible that this may become necessary in the future. A suitable diet, such as an arthritis management diet, is highly recommended to support his joints as much as possible. Dingo could be placed with a calm dog of the same size. During an introduction, it will need to be determined if they match. Children from 12 years old are no problem for Dingo, as long as they are calm and respectful with him. We are looking for a loving and quiet home for Dingo where there is understanding for his age and physical limitations. A place where he doesn't have to do everything, but can mainly enjoy companionship, short walks, attention, and a comfortable bed. Are you the one who can offer him this? Then we would like to receive your application form.

About Dottige Dingo

What life with Dottige Dingo looks like

Dottige Dingo is a adult dog waiting at Dierenopvangcentrum Breda in Breda.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇳🇱Adopting from Netherlands

Dutch shelters typically require a household assessment and an adoption contract. Animals are routinely sterilized, microchipped, and registered in the national pet database (NDG) before placement.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dottige Dingo, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dottige Dingo?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Dierenopvangcentrum Breda handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dottige Dingo on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dottige Dingo if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Dierenopvangcentrum Breda will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dottige Dingo already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dottige Dingo isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Dierenopvangcentrum Breda early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dottige Dingo and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (NL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
