Dougie – In Foster – South East

English Bulldog · Male

Please welcome into the arms of the Springboard Family! Dougie is a handsome little lad who was found wandering the streets as a stray. After serving his 7-day stray hold in kennels, we were asked if we could take him into our care, and of course, our answer was yes. Yesterday, Dougie was collected by the wonderful Sherrill and has now safely arrived at his foster home with Andy in the South East, where he is already settling in really well. A huge thank you to both Sherrill and Andy for stepping forward to help this boy when he needed it most. We simply couldn’t do what we do without the incredible volunteers who open their homes and hearts to dogs like Dougie. As Dougie has only just arrived, we don’t know a great deal about him yet. He is booked in for his full veterinary health check tonight, where he will be thoroughly examined and we can hopefully learn a little more about our handsome new arrival, including any medical needs that may require our attention. Please remember that Dougie has only just entered foster care, so he is not available for adoption at this time. His foster family will need time to get to know him, allow him to settle into his new surroundings and help us understand his personality, behaviour and needs. We’ll share updates as Dougie settles in and begins to show us the wonderful personality hiding behind those beautiful eyes. For now, please join us in giving the warmest Springboard welcome. You’re safe now, sweet boy. Your next chapter starts here, and we’ll make sure it’s filled with love, care and everything you deserve. About Dougie – In Foster – South East

What life with Dougie – In Foster – South East looks like

Dougie – In Foster – South East is a extra-large adult english bulldog dog waiting at Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue in United Kingdom.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. A larger dog like this one needs daily off-leash time when possible — a fenced yard or regular access to safe walking trails. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇬🇧Adopting from United Kingdom

UK shelters work under the Pet Travel Scheme (post-Brexit, the EU pet passport is not valid; a UK Animal Health Certificate is required for travel into the EU). Most UK rescues focus on domestic placements but some work with EU partners.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dougie – In Foster – South East, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dougie – In Foster – South East?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dougie – In Foster – South East on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dougie – In Foster – South East if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. UK adopters: post-Brexit travel into the EU requires an Animal Health Certificate. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dougie – In Foster – South East already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dougie – In Foster – South East isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Geordie Bullies Springboard Rescue early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dougie – In Foster – South East and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (EN). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
