Draco M. came to our shelter as a found animal. As nobody seems to miss this handsome fellow, we are now searching for a loving home for him. The ideal home should have at least one companion of similar size and a large living space. Daily outdoor time is also a must. You can find the minimum requirements for the size of the living space here. Currently, Draco M. enjoys indoor living, but he can also be gradually accustomed to outdoor living during warmer months. When it comes to outdoor living, it is important to ensure that he cannot escape by digging and that he is protected from food thieves. Shade spots must also be provided. Various retreat options like sleeping caves as well as structures for entertainment should not be missing. Since rabbits are not cuddly but rather observation animals, they prefer to spend time with their fellow animals rather than with humans. Unfortunately, Draco M. also carries his own package: due to bilateral nail bed injuries and a thymoma (tumor in the thymus), Draco M. needs to be regularly examined by a veterinarian. Draco M. kam als Fundtier in unsere Obhut. Da niemand den hübschen Kerl zu vermissen scheint, suchen wir nun ein liebevolles Zuhause für ihn. In diesem sollte sich mindestens ein Partnertier – am besten in seiner Größe – und eine große Unterbringung befinden. Auch täglicher Freilauf ist ein Muss. Die Mindestanforderungen bezüglich der Maße der Unterbringungen finden Sie hier. Zu Anfang hat Draco M. die reine Innenhaltung genossen, konnte aber während der wärmeren Monate an die reine Außenhaltung gewöhnt werden. Bei der Außenhaltung ist zu beachten, dass er nicht durch ausbuddeln entweichen kann und dass Schutz vor Fressfeinden gewährleistet ist. Auch auf Schattenplätze muss geachtet werden. Verschiedene Rückzugsmöglichkeiten wie Schlafhöhlen sowie Strukturelemente zur Unterhaltung dürfen nicht fehlen. Da es sich bei Kaninchen nicht um Kuschel-, sondern Beobachtungstiere handelt, verbringen sie lieber Zeit mit ihren Artgenossen als mit uns Menschen. Leider trägt auch Draco M. sein Päckchen mit sich: Aufgrund eines beidseitigen Nickhautvorfalls und eines Thymoms (Tumor am Thymus) muss Draco M. regelmäßig tierärztlich untersucht werden.
