Dragon

European Shorthair · Male

Dragon is a neutered tomcat, born around mid 2025, who quickly wins over hearts with his open and affectionate nature. He is very people-oriented, curious and enjoys all attention. Dragon can't get enough of petting and loves to accompany his humans through everyday life. With his friendly nature, he is a straightforward companion who quickly gains trust. He generally gets along well with other cats. However, it seems that he would feel particularly comfortable as an only cat, enjoying the full attention of his humans. After a suitable adjustment period, Dragon eagerly wants to discover the world outside again. Therefore, we are looking for a home with secure outdoor access in a traffic-calmed environment. Anyone who wants to give a cuddly, open and lively tomcat a loving home will find a loyal companion for life in Dragon. If you would like to get to know him, please click on the "Request cat" button and fill out the online form completely. This way we receive all relevant information for an initial conversation upfront.

About Dragon

What life with Dragon looks like

Dragon is a adult european shorthair cat waiting at Tierheim Ludwigshafen in Ludwigshafen/Rheim.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dragon, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dragon?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Ludwigshafen handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dragon on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dragon if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Ludwigshafen will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dragon already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dragon isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Ludwigshafen early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dragon and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
