Dragosch

Male · Adult · 8 years

Dragosch, Staffordshire Bullterrier, born around 2018, neutered: For Dragosch, the rules according to the State Dog Law apply as a Staffordshire Terrier. We would be happy to inform you about this! Dragosch came to us as a security measure. Now he can finally start looking for a home. The compact male dog is a true terrier through and through. He is funny, a little unapologetic, and will turn on when you let him. He likes people, responds well to his name, and is certainly compatible with selected female dogs and male dogs. Of course, we would have to test this on an individual basis. At our shelter, even though he doesn't always walk right beside you on the short leash, he is a popular walking partner. We also can't ignore his resourcefulness. A true terrier, he likes to claim his things for himself! If you let him, he will decide what is his. He loves sticks and only gives them up very reluctantly. Dragosch does not know children and we do not want to place him in a home with children (hundekundige teenagers from around 16 years old should not be a problem). Also, no cats or small animals should live in the new home. We see Dragosch with people who are knowledgeable about the breed and who can clearly and fairly explain the rules of cohabitation to him. He is a really lovable and fun guy, and the right people will have a lot of joy with him. If you are seriously interested in our Dragosch, please contact us! We will then arrange an initial meet-and-greet! -9 { margin: auto; } -9 -9 img { border: 2px solid; }

-10 { margin: auto; } -10 -10 img { border: 2px solid ; } -10 /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */

About Dragosch

What life with Dragosch looks like

Dragosch is a adult dog waiting at Tierheim Pirmasens in Pirmasens.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dragosch, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dragosch?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tierheim Pirmasens handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dragosch on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dragosch if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tierheim Pirmasens will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dragosch already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dragosch isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tierheim Pirmasens early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dragosch and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
