Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa

Mixed Breed · Female

Livi and Elsa Age: 10/23 + 10/24. Sex: female/spayed Compatibility: together Housing: apartment with balcony Health: microchipped and vaccinated, negative FiV/FelV tested Adoption fee: 210 euros per animal Livi - (Liv) the name means life. And she deserves it. Suddenly, she appeared at one of our feeding stations and showed her injury. She had lost her right hind leg, freshly. She was immediately taken to a clinic and spent almost 4 weeks there. The injury from losing the hind leg was not the problem, but the right front paw had injured toes that unfortunately became infected. Barely back from the clinic, she gave birth to 2 babies to everyone's complete surprise. She has recovered beautifully and gets along well on three legs. Livi is very small and slender, she won't grow much more. She is already somewhat people-oriented but still reserved/suspicious. Perhaps no wonder, who knows what she has experienced. She can't lie down with you or enjoy longer cuddle sessions in peace yet. And when she does, she sometimes darts away suddenly and runs off (without claws). However, we can well imagine that this will settle down when she finally gets to relax and finds the right caregiver. This must simply give her time, love, and patience, then it will work out. She seems to have an autoimmune disease that manifests itself in that she sometimes has slightly thickened areas on her hind leg. There's nothing you can do about autoimmune, but if she lives alone or with only one other cat, you could try an exclusion diet to see if she reacts to something. In the meantime, she has befriended Elsa, our one-eyed cat, at the foster home. She has only one eye because she had kitty cold as a baby. But the "broken" eye doesn't bother her. Elsa is a bit what Livi isn't. She is very people-oriented and likes to cuddle. As soon as you lie on the couch, she lies on you. Proper outdoor access is not an option for both, but a secured balcony is a MUST. Or, of course, even better would be a secured garden. You can still dream and hope, right :-). Children should be older (Ü12), they don't know dogs. If you're interested, please fill out this questionnaire for Frau Heinrichs, thank you. I'm interested in this cat

About Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa

What life with Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa looks like

Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa is a very small adult mixed breed cat waiting at Katzenschutzbund Köln in Köln.

An adult cat usually shows their personality within a week. Give them a quiet room with everything they need (food, water, litter, hiding spot) and let them choose when to explore. Don't force interaction — every cat decides for themselves when a new home counts as home.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Katzenschutzbund Köln handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Katzenschutzbund Köln will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most cats on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Katzenschutzbund Köln early rather than rehoming privately; they know Dreibein Livi und Einauge Elsa and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
