Droopy

Mixed Breed · Male · Puppy · 12 months

Droopy (available) English version below Born: around August 2024 neutered: No Not known to have any illnesses Droopy is a young dog with a big heart, looking for a patient and loving Forever Home. He was found on the street with blood on his head. At first, his rescuer thought he had been hit by a car, but it turned out that his injuries were caused by other dogs. Fortunately, Droopy has fully recovered from his injuries and is ready for a new chapter in his life. Droopy is very friendly with people and loves food – a big advantage for his training. His food motivation will help him learn about life in a home. At the animal shelter, he lives with other dogs and gets along well with most of them. However, he sometimes reacts sensitively when other dogs touch him, which is likely due to his past. We are confident that a considerate family can help him learn that other dogs will no longer harm him in the future. If you would like to learn more about Droopy or give him a loving home, please do not hesitate to contact us. This animal is vaccinated. This animal is microchipped. This is a puppy.

About Droopy

What life with Droopy looks like

Droopy is a large puppy/kitten mixed breed dog waiting at Tatzencrew e.V. in Neuhausen.

Puppies need routine, gentle socialization, and roughly two short outings a day for the first year. The first six months are the formative window — house-training, leash work, and quiet exposure to traffic, other dogs, and unfamiliar people happen now or not at all. Expect early-morning wake-ups and a few months of chewing.

🇩🇪Adopting from Germany

German rescues typically require an in-person home visit (Vorkontrolle) or detailed video home check before approving adoption. Animals leave the shelter sterilized, microchipped, and with a valid EU pet passport. Adoption fees usually fall between €250 and €450, covering veterinary preparation.

Frequently asked

Adopting Droopy, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Droopy?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Tatzencrew e.V. handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Droopy on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Droopy if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Tatzencrew e.V. will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Droopy already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Droopy isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Tatzencrew e.V. early rather than rehoming privately; they know Droopy and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (DE). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
