Adopt Drops

Male

Drops is about a half-year-old puppy who, along with his friend Cukierkiem, appeared at our shelter in February of this year. The puppies came to us from Gminy Długosiodło. The puppy, just like his companion, displayed aggression, which was caused by a sudden change in their environment and a lack of trust in humans. After three months of working with the puppy, the caregiver was able to earn enough trust from the puppy that he no longer has a problem going for a walk with him, allowing the caregiver to put on a collar and leash. He allows being petted and hugged. On walks, he does not stray from the caregiver and also does not show aggression towards other puppies. We still have a little more work to do and need to earn his full trust, to help him understand that not everyone is bad, and that we want to help him… We hope that soon he will show us how much energy he has for play and love, which he is currently afraid to show. We very much request thoughtful adoptions, Drops is a puppy who needs to be given a lot of time, requires patience, and the showing of a lot of love. The puppy can be the best friend, but only if he finds the right home, a home that is willing to dedicate itself fully and show the puppy the immense love he deserves. DO NOT BUY – ADOPT!

About Drops

What life with Drops looks like

Drops is a medium-sized adult dog waiting at Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych in Poland.

An adult dog fits most household rhythms once the first couple of weeks of adjustment pass. Two reasonable walks a day plus play time is usually enough. Plan a "decompression fortnight" — quiet routine, no visitors, no off-leash adventures — to let them settle.

🇵🇱Adopting from Poland

Polish shelters maintain established transport routes to Germany, Netherlands, Austria, and Sweden. Animals leave sterilized and chipped. Adoption fees are typically lower than in Western Europe (often €50–€150) but adopters cover transport.

Frequently asked

Adopting Drops, answered.

How do I contact the shelter about Drops?
Use the phone, email, or website link in the sidebar of this page. Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych handles screening and the adoption contract directly — TailHarbor doesn't broker the conversation. When you reach out, mention you saw Drops on TailHarbor so they know which animal you're asking about.
Can I adopt Drops if I live in another country?
Yes, in most cases. Rescues across Europe routinely place animals abroad — Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych will tell you what they need (EU pet passport, rabies titer, transport coordination) and whether they handle transport themselves or refer you to a partner. Plan for an extra €100–€350 in transport costs depending on distance.
Is Drops already vetted, vaccinated, and chipped?
Most dogs on TailHarbor leave their shelter with sterilization, current vaccinations, microchip ID, and an EU pet passport included in the adoption fee. The vet status on this page reflects what the shelter has reported — ask them directly if you need details on specific vaccines, recent bloodwork, or chronic conditions.
What happens if Drops isn't the right fit?
Every reputable rescue accepts an animal back if the adoption genuinely doesn't work — that's part of the standard contract. Talk it through with Fundacja Przyjaciele Braci Mniejszych early rather than rehoming privately; they know Drops and can place them more successfully than a second-hand listing can.
Why does the description sometimes read awkwardly?
TailHarbor translates shelter descriptions into English from the source language (PL). Translation is imperfect — names of streets, donors, and shelter-specific terms occasionally slip through unidiomatically. For the cleanest read, click the source link to see the shelter's original page.
